I passed a sign yesterday while driving that said “Smile! Your mother chose life!” advertising the local crisis pregnancy service. The thought came to mind that truly abortion is a good thing for our governments to support.
In Kenya where I resided for a year, abortion (as well as homosexuality) is (more…)
CTV.ca | George Clooney calls for Egypt’s help on Darfur
So now George Clooney is in on the game of promoting change in war torn nations like Sudan and the region of Darfur. …the line forms behind Bono…
NEXT!
(UPDATE: I just saw an advertisement for a new movie Clooney stars in coming out very soon. Isn’t it convenient that his “ambassador” trip just happened to occur around the same time… hmmm…)
Macleans.ca | Culture | Television | Little Mosque On The Prairie
Check this out. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is putting a show on the air that mocks many aspects of Islam. It is produced by a Muslim so apparently it doesn’t go too far… but honestly, after we’ve seen the reaction to some pokes at Islam, how is this going to be handled. I guess the writers will be safe as long as (more…)

CTV.ca | Islamic militants surround Somalia town

One of my pet peeves with people who want to help others is that they only see the need when it is immediate–after it has just happened and fulfills a need right now, not necessarily for the future. It’s upsetting to see how quickly people forget about certain needs around the world unless they are (more…)
RELEVANT MAGAZINE :: Stuck in a Pew
Redeeming a Needy Neighborhood | An Interview with James Meeks | The Christian Vision Project
So I have had this topic on my mind a lot lately: the need for the Church to get off the pew and put their faith into action on a regular basis, being the hands and feet of Christ.
This need has been amplified by the fact that I am currently (more…)
